Fundraising
Action on Pain promote the positive side of living with chronic pain. We are an independent, non-political organisation with a clear focus on the key issues that impact on people affected by pain. Since opening in 2001, our PainLine service (0845 6031593) had handled over 32000 calls. This dedicated pain helpline is manned by volunteers who themselves are affected by chronic pain.
All of our work requires funding none of which comes from the government. We rely entirely on the efforts of our volunteers and the general public to secure of provide funding.
There are a number of ways you can help us, some of which won't even cost you a penny!
If you buy goods online, then please shop via our two webshops. You pay exactly the same price for the goods, but the retailer will make a contribution to Action on Pain. Please check:
and
Thanks!
PLEASE NOTE: Although you use the Webshop link, you deal directly with each retailer. The Webshop organisation simply records your visit to each retailers website via the relevant link and awards the appropriate commision to Action on Pain if you make any purchases.
WHY DO RETAILERS MAKE FREE DONATIONS? It seems very generous, but when you buy online costs are much lower. As there's no shop, salesperson, heating, electricity, rates, not even the cost of the bag to put your goods in, retailers are more than happy to help good causes when new 'online' customers are introduced to them via our website. Up to 15%
Many retailers give extra 'web-only' discounts, special offers and even exclusive money saving 'e-vouchers' to our members, so as well as raising funds you can also use our site to save money. With some categories such as mobile phones and insurance there is a cash value.

PainLine Update
By the end of October 2009 Action on Pain had handled 31006 calls on PainLine since opening in 2001 continuing the popularity of the service which has seen a continual annual increase in usage
At the start of 2004 Action on Pain started to provide weekend cover on PainLine however the uptake was very light. Given that we rely entirely on volunteers to man PainLine it was clear that this was not the best use of this valuable resource. We therefore took the decision to withdraw weekend cover from 1 December 2004. That said messages to the answerphone at the weekend will be monitored with any urgent calls being responded to as soon as possible as will messages to our e-mail address. PainLine operates from our Norfolk office between 1000-1600hrs Mon-Fri. on 0845 6031593 You may get an answerphone as we rely on volunteers but please leave a message as we always get back.
Our office number is 01362 820750 which should be used for all administrative purposes.
